The debate of grass fed beef vs. grain fed beef has been going on for a while now, but the question remains unanswered. Grain fed cows are typically fattened up with grains and corn before slaughter so they can produce more meat in less time. Grass-fed cows eat grass instead of being pumped full of grain, which usually makes them leaner and has higher levels of Omega 3s. Cows that provide grassfed steak is grass-fed eat a diet of grass and hay, which is the natural diet for cows. Cattle used to be free-range wild animals roaming around in herds eating whatever they could find.
